Summer Music

Our summer music season is upon us! And it’s no accident that this tradition and all of its playfulness and out of the box ideas happens at this time of year.

Pentecost is the season when we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit. Not only the gifts that the Spirit gives us for ministry, but the way the Spirit leads us out into the world to preach the good news, and also to experience God and God’s love in new and surprising places. The way the Holy Spirit gives us the ability to speak of God‘s love in the language others can hear, and to wonder at the limitless boundaries of God‘s love in Christ.

In this way our some music program is a bit of a parable as we experience the good news of God‘s love in music from outside the church or in traditions different from our own.

In addition, the Protestant tradition, and our own Anglican tradition within it, celebrates our experience of the good news in the language of the vernacular. In the language, we speak every day to one another. The language a parent speaks to a child or a child speaks to a parent or a friend. The language we use in the market or on the street. The reason for translating out of Latin was partly for comprehension and partly because we believe God is not limited to a language nobody speaks anymore. The great 16th century reformer, Martin Luther, was known for setting hymns to tunes which would otherwise be heard in much more secular contexts. Our summer music program is another way of “speaking” in the vernacular.

Many thanks to our musicians who help us experience God’s love in these new —and yes fun and playful— ways. Thanks to all of you for sharing your ideas for future Summer music themes.

We offer a welcoming space to explore your spiritual journey, to deepen your love for God and others, to find strength in community through joyful worship and prayer, and to discover purpose through service.

Together, we’re becoming more like Christ— living out our baptismal promises with hope, healing, and love.

At St. Peter’s, we nurture a faith that grows with you.

Start here: Attend a worship service

Curious about church, or thinking of returning after a long time away?

You’ll find all kinds of people at St. Peter’s: introverts and extroverts, intellectuals and artists, military families and beach lovers, skeptics and lifelong believers, folks starting over and those just beginning. We hold a wide range of theological and political perspectives—but we’re united in love, committed to walking together in the Spirit.

You’re welcome to attend whichever service feels right to you — or come to more than one! That way you’ll know for sure which one is the best fit.

Building God’s Dream
One Act of Love at a Time

At St. Peter’s, we believe God has a dream—a dream of a world where everyone is loved, cared for, and connected. A dream where compassion shapes our choices, generosity and inclusion guide our actions, and our planet is cared for with love and tenderness.

Each Sunday, we gather to help make that dream come true. In worship and song, in the laughter of our children, in our service to neighbors near and far, we practice the way of love Jesus taught us.

We share stories that remind us that God’s dream is not a distant hope—it’s something we build together, one act of love, one moment of grace at a time.

Whether you’re exploring faith for the first time or have walked this path for years, there’s a place for you here.

Join us for worship this Sunday — and help us build God’s dream together.
